Our hands. We use them to wash, scratch, write, type, cook, touch, hold, turn, clap, love. They are busy. For everything we demand of them, they deserve a little pampering too. A home manicure can help our hands feel ready to do it all again tomorrow.

10 Steps of a Home Manicure
1 Trim your nails – To your desired length and shape.
2 File your nails – Always file them in one direction from the outside to the middle, rather than back and forth, to prevent your nails from splitting.
3 Buff your nails – Use the fine side of the buffer in an X pattern until the shine is even.
4 Soak your nails – Fill the bowl or basin with enough water that it wont spill when you put your hand in it. Add a touch of liquid soap to make it sudsy. Soak your hands for 5 minutes.
5 Scrub your nails – Using a nail or soft bristled vegetable brush, scrub any dirt that is under your nails using a downward motion from the first knuckle. Swish your hand back in the water to leave the dirt behind.
6 Dry your hands – Thoroughly dry your hands with the hand towel. Gently use the towel to push back the cuticle.
7 Clean under your nails – Using the manicure or orange stick, gently clean under your nails.
8 Clip away hang nails – With your nail scissors, carefully trim off any hangnails. Be careful to cut them straight across.
9 Optional – Deep moisturize your cuticles – Apply cuticle or hand lotion to your nails. Cover with a cotton ball and wrap a pre-cut strip of tin foil around it. Let it sit for 5 – 10 minutes. Remove and go to next step.
10 Clean your nails – Dab some rubbing alcohol on a tissue or cotton ball and wipe any oils or soap off your nails.
Now, if you choose to, you are ready to paint those nails.
This is probably not going to be of value for most men, but step one can be beneficial. Especially if they work rough with their hands regularly.
